This year’s priorities for School Development at Ysgol Frongoch

School Priority Update

• SLT have carried out a Learning Walk with a focus on our learning environment. They have ensured that there is consistency across all classrooms with displays and resources to ensure the pupils can continually develop their independence across the school.
• All staff received training from Ceri Williams of DCC on recognising an independent learner and ways to develop independence amongst our learners.

• SLT members have met to monitor planning across all year groups, they have carried out a ‘Book look’ to ensure there is progression across all year groups.
• In most lessons pupils have access to one, two and three tick work including a challenge task to allow them to challenge themselves as much as possible.
• Staff attended training involving Bloom’s Taxonomy to further develop their understanding of how to extend learners’ through questioning.

• All classes have started C’mon Cymraeg sessions daily to support the learning and understanding of Language patterns.
• A Cymraeg page has been added to our Half- termly Newsletter to encourage Parents to try and use a little Cymraeg at home with their children. This page includes songs and games that the children can access at home to help develop their vocabulary.
