Attendance / Presenoldeb
Attending school regularly and punctually is important and may I remind you that parents are under a legal duty to send their children to school regularly. Parents should ensure that their children arrive at school on time, properly attired and in a condition to learn. Parents are expected to inform the school of the reason for a child’s absence as soon as possible. This may be done by telephone, a note or a verbal message. As the school registers have to show whether an absence is authorised or unauthorised, the reason for the absence must be clearly given. Please note that if your child arrives 30 minutes late [ie 9.15am onwards they will be put down as an unauthorised absence for the entire morning].
- Family Holidays and Extended Trips Overseas During Term Time
Since September 2015, Denbighshire Education has worked on providing a Denbighshire wide attendance policy to include a consistent approach for all schools when it comes to holidays taken during term time. No holidays taken during term time will be authorised and the school follows the attendance policy, including the use of Fixed Penalty Notices being issued if necessary.
Parents who remove learners from school during the school day to visit the dentist, doctor or for a hospital appointment should ensure that the school is informed before hand where possible. Pupils who arrive after registration should report to the school office before going to their classroom.
Attendance figures for every learner is shared with parents at Parents’ Evening. We aim to support parents in being able to ensure their child’s attendance is as good as possible.
The school works closely with the Educational Social Worker and monitors attendance and punctuality regularly.

Mae mynychu'r ysgol yn rheolaidd ac yn brydlon yn bwysig, ac a gaf i'ch atgoffa bod rhieni o dan ddyletswydd gyfreithiol i anfon eu plant i'r ysgol yn rheolaidd. Dylai rhieni sicrhau bod eu plant yn cyrraedd yr ysgol ar amser, wedi'u gwisgo'n briodol ac mewn cyflwr i ddysgu. Disgwylir i rieni hysbysu'r ysgol o'r rheswm dros absenoldeb plentyn cyn gynted â phosibl. Gellir gwneud hyn dros y ffôn, nodyn neu neges lafar. Gan fod yn rhaid i gofrestrau'r ysgol ddangos a yw absenoldeb wedi'i awdurdodi ai peidio, rhaid rhoi'r rheswm dros yr absenoldeb yn glir. Sylwch, os yw'ch plentyn yn cyrraedd 30 munud yn hwyr [h.y. o 9.15am ymlaen, byddant yn cael eu nodi fel absenoldeb heb awdurdod am y bore cyfan].
- Gwyliau Teuluol a Theithiau Hir Dramor yn ystod y Tymor
Ers mis Medi 2015, mae Addysg Sir Ddinbych wedi gweithio ar ddarparu polisi presenoldeb ledled Sir Ddinbych i gynnwys dull cyson ar gyfer pob ysgol o ran gwyliau a gymerir yn ystod y tymor. Ni fydd unrhyw wyliau a gymerir yn ystod y tymor yn cael eu hawdurdodi ac mae'r ysgol yn dilyn y polisi presenoldeb, gan gynnwys defnyddio Hysbysiadau Cosb Benodedig os oes angen.
Dylai rhieni sy'n tynnu disgyblion o'r ysgol yn ystod y diwrnod ysgol i ymweld â'r deintydd, y meddyg neu am apwyntiad ysbyty sicrhau bod yr ysgol yn cael gwybod ymlaen llaw lle bo modd. Dylai disgyblion sy'n cyrraedd ar ôl cofrestru fynd i swyddfa'r ysgol cyn mynd i'w hystafell ddosbarth.
Rhennir ffigurau presenoldeb ar gyfer pob dysgwr gyda rhieni yn y Noson Rhieni. Ein nod yw cefnogi rhieni i allu sicrhau bod presenoldeb eu plentyn mor dda â phosibl.
Mae'r ysgol yn gweithio'n agos gyda'r Gweithiwr Cymdeithasol Addysgol ac yn monitro presenoldeb a phrydlondeb yn rheolaidd.
